Make sure to purchase your new, unwrapped gift or toy to bring to the Manakin Market Holiday Farm & Craft Market for a child who will be spending tMason's Toy Box 2heir holidays in the hospital!  Mason’s Toy Box will be collecting toys, as well as gift cards, Starbuck’s cards and donations for the parents of children who are stuck in the hospital.  Homemade blankets, pillow cases and cuddly stuffed animals are favorites!

For those of you who don’t know, Lisa Dearden’s grandson, Wilson, was diagnosed with stage III, high risk neuroblastoma at 22 months old.  He was a very, very sick little boy.  Wilson, and Lisa’s entire family, was in and out of the hospital for over 18 months, including a six week trip to Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. It was the most difficult and stressful time period of their lives. Imagine trying to keep a two year old entertained and confined to his bed for a year and a half. Everyone was tired, stressed, bored, hungry, emotionally and physically drained, and scared. The generous support of people like YOU made an amazing difference to the entire family. Thanks to the amazing team at VCU and Memorial Sloan Kettering, Wilson is now a happy, healthy nine year old boy!

Sadly, young Mason, who had the same type of cancer that Wilson had, didn’t make it. Mason fought neuroblastoma from from age 5 to 11, and lost his battle June 20, 2011. Mason’s beautiful mommy collects toys in his honor to brighten the faces of all who are fighting to survive the holiday season.

Please consider purchasing a toy or gift today and bringing it to the Manakin Market Holiday Farm & Craft Market on Saturday, December 2nd.  If you can’t bring it on that day, please visit Mason’s Toy Box’s Facebook page to find another drop point.

THANK YOU!!!  And Wilson thanks you!
